Surveillance Systems

CCTV and video surveillance are installed in the following common areas of the Strata BCS2781 buildings: lobbies, storage rooms, elevators, elevator lobbies and parkade.

Data Collection

The organization collects data regarding security fob usage for each programmed device at the strata property.

Permitted Uses

Information gathered serves purposes including safety and security of the residents and the strata property, by detecting or deterring and assisting in investigation of criminal activity, and for the enforcement of Bylaws.

Retention Periods

• Video recordings are retained for 45 days (extendable for law enforcement purposes)
• Security fob records are retained for 6 months (similarly extendable)

Disclosure

Personal information disclosure is limited to authorized law enforcement personnel and specified property management representatives including caretakers and council members.

Liability

The strata corporation makes no representations or guarantees that any of the systems will be fully operational at all times and accepts no responsibility for security failures.
